This morning we started our day with Morning Meeting, always a good transition from the weekend. In math, we did some estimating and measuring with feet and inches. We had no computer lab because of testing so instead, we finished the centers that we started on Thursday. They were: water color of our favorite weather, Moby Max, a game about sequencing and iPads with a money app. We read Dear Mrs. LaRue, a book about a dog at obedience school. This gave us a good opportunity to talk about words and different forms: obey, obedience, obedient. In writing, we finished making our Weekend News from last week an opinion piece. For word work, we have new words. We learned a new game too where we act out the letters of word wall words.
This afternoon, we read a poem about the Water Cycle. We talked about the words: evaporation, condensation, precipitation and their verb forms (evaporate, condense, and precipitate). Finally, we did work jobs and went to keyboarding.
Please note that a permission slip about Kevin Skarupa's visit went home today. Check your homework packet for that. If you could send that back as soon as possible, that would be great! Thank you!
